About Us

Kiriri Women's University of Science and Technology (KWUST) is a private, women's only Kenyan university. As a women's only university, our main objective is to bridge the gap in gender representation in higher education as well as contributing to the social and economic development of the country. The university was founded in 2002 and is accredited by The Commission for University Education (CUE)

ICT Infrastructure

Information Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure for Offering Blended Learning Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology has implemented a university-wide infrastructure for net-based learning and blended learning. This strategic investment aims to increase the opportunities for students and lecturers who wish to use digital educational resources in teaching and learning. In a long-term perspective it is expected to lead to skilled and dedicated students, a stimulating working and learning environment, increased access to new educational tools and also to contribute to the University’s objective of bridging the gap in gender representation in higher education as well as contributing to the social and economic development of the country.

The Virtual Learning Platform

The university has adopted a virtual leaning platform (http://virtual.kwust.ac.ke/). This learning management system providers users with access to digital classes. These virtual courses are similar to offline classes in a lot of ways: an instructor provides an engaging educational experience through multimedia messages. The system is based on Moodle. Moodle is a learning system that is designed to offer educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create customized learning environments.
